BEFORE YOU DEPART

Travel Advisory

Please contact us for the latest travel advisory in order to ensure hassle-free entry to Nepal.

How Does Visa Work?

You can get the visa on arrival from the immigration desk at the airport and no additional documents and photo are required. The visa fees are US$30 for 15 days and US$50 for 3o day stay. While you can pay the visa fees by card, it is advisable to bring cash, just in case. You should expect a long queue for the visa in high trekking season and if you want to avoid it, it is good to get a visa prior to your travel from a Nepali Diplomatic mission.

About Nepal

Nepal was divided into small principalities and states until it was unified by a Shah king of Gorkha in 1769. Despite numerous political changes over the period, its social structures and institution remained intact, and largely unchanged. With Hinduism and Buddhism standing as the main religion, and the Himalayas as a backdrop, Nepal still practices centuries old traditions and customs. So we advise you to get familiar with some basic dos and don’ts of Nepal before you embark on a journey.

Keep In Touch With Home

Before leaving home, talk to your family and friends and let them know what your travel plan including the destination and the company you are traveling with. It is also advised to register your travel details with the embassy or consulate of your home country in Nepal.

Get Insured

So contact the most reliable insurance company and purchase the policy that covers the expenses related to medical conditions, including hospitalization and evacuation, and additional expenses incurred due to flight disruptions.

Contact Your Bank

In some cases, the credit/debit card you have might not work outside your country or the continent, so please contact your bank to make sure that your card works in Nepal.

Avoid Street Foods

Eating the foods sold on a street is a fun and great way to taste local foods and support small-scale businesses but it involves a risk of getting a disturbed stomach. So we advise you to avoid street foods until you return to Kathmandu.
