Introduction

Walk through the old streets of Kathmandu in the morning to observe the timeless morning routines of locals that have been in existence for ages. During the day the streets in Kathmandu bustle with vehicles, pedestrian and animal traffic contesting for passage. However, in the morning those streets become calm and relaxed, showing the different facets of the city. Despite being in the heart of the capital city, the morning reflects a sense of living in the past.

Walk past the shrines and temples serenaded by ringing bells, fragranced by incense sticks, and illuminated by the oil and ghee lamps. Outside the temples, stand the locals in a queue holding on their hands bronze plates, or colorful baskets full of vermillion powders, flowers, fruits, and incense sticks. A few blocks down, local vendors line the streets selling varieties of goods, ranging from chai/tea, and morning snacks, to fresh vegetables, fish, and meats. Have tea at one of the tea shops by the street, meet the locals, and listen to their gossip, and laughs. Taste local snacks such as Sel Roti or Gwaramari at the shops where both the recipes and business have been passed down from generation to generation. This morning’s tour is not just a tour, but an experience that might change your perception about Kathmandu.

Join us for this quick, yet epic walk.
