Ngima was born in Lukla. His family used to run a small tea shop for guides and porters based in Lukla. He had the opportunity to meet hundreds of guides and porters and listen to their adventurous stories. He would wonder what it is like to be a guide to the tourists. He used to work as a porter during his school holidays to earn extra money for the family and himself. His childhood imagination and the passion to be a guide drove him to Kathmandu. Starting in 2016, he has led several Everest Base Camp expeditions with a 100% success rate. He takes the pace of trekkers very seriously and always sticks to his “slowly slowly” strategy. He is an AWFA certified guide through SOLO.
