Driven by the perseverance and reverence to nature, our founder has trekked miles, worn out boots, worked on numerous expeditions on and off the scene, and seen highs and lows of industry. With a mind full of ideas, hands seasoned with experience, and a heart fueled by passion, our founder, Krishna, envisioned and launched his own project—Junkiri Trekking. Junkiri means the fireflies that light up the night, symbolizing hope, guidance, and discovery. Junkiri Trekking was established with the spirit of hope and discovery – reflecting both the essence of fireflies and the journeys Krishna envisioned for travellers. Our mission is to discover hidden trails and provide travellers with experiences rather than just a trip-while supporting the host communities and preserving their culture. Being aligned with our mission, we strive to offer a fresh perspective on popular trekking routes by including detours and side trips. For us all the trekking routes and travel destinations in Nepal are cultural and natural heritages and we must promote, respect and protect them by all means possible. We take great care in supporting the host community while preserving their culture and surrounding environment. We don’t do it out of obligation; it’s simply who we are. Safety is our heartbeat. We have outlined proven and effective safety protocols that serve as a mantra for everyone working at Junkiri. We take pride in our ability to effectively execute the safety policy we adhere to. We have come a long way with more than a decade of experience in both field and operations. We have traveled extensively in Nepal, getting firsthand experience with both the highs and lows of the trips we have designed. Having managed large-scale operations in our previous jobs, we understand the core dynamics of trekking. From managing field staff to liaising with local suppliers and the tea houses in the mountains, we always have our back. . We might come across as braggers, but we like to think of ourselves as Mr. Know-It-Alls. Looking ahead, Junkiri aims to lead the way in sustainable tourism by launching zero-waste treks and supporting porters and their families through our ‘Junkiri Cafe’ initiative. The café’s revenue will be shared among the field staff, providing them with an opportunity to earn extra income during the off-season. Junkiri Trekking is not just a trekking company; it’s a platform for exploration, cultural immersion, and personal growth. It was born from Krishna’s determination, passion for mountains and the culture that thrived on their foothills. Navigate the Himalayan Trails with us and bag an experience, not just a trip. Write your own stories, create memories and connect to the soul of Nepal. |
