Itinerary
Start driving south of Kathmandu following the Bagmati River downstream and hit the trail from Bhanjyang. Hike on stone staircases through the pine forest to Hattiban Resort, stop for breakfast, and follow the ridgeline through the forest. The trail gradients gently until we approach the final steep uphill ascent to Bhasmasur Hill. On reaching the top, we rest for a while and enjoy the view. Then hike down to Chhap Bhanjyang, where we eat lunch at a small tea shop. Walk a gentle downhill trail to another small village where you can see the remnants of the abandoned Ropeway System and the gondolas that once used to carry the supplier from Hetauda to Kathmandu. Continue following the ridge to Chandragiri Hills, a popular destination in Kathmandu boasting a luxury hotel, cafes, and a Hindu temple. Take a cable car to the down station and catch a car back to Thamel.
